Mrs. Martin was born Joan Warburton on Sept. 22, 1928, in Stockport, England. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Salina Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She married Walter Martin in October 1953.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in 1994; and an infant daughter, Karen, in 1970.

Survivors include her mother, Grace Warburton of Preston, England; four sons, Eric and wife Barbara of Salina, Wayne of Brookville, Adrian and wife Paula of Rayville, Mo., and Warren and wife Cynthia of Salina; four daughters, Trudy Tryban and husband Jerry of Smolan, Diane Flanagan and husband Joe of Salina, Gretel Thompson and husband Jerry of Haysville and Esther Ulrich and husband Marty of Waldo; 13 grandchildren, Mandy, Courtney, Kelsey, Mathew, Joshua, Nahan, Molly, Aaron, Andrew, Jessica, Katie, Cody and Casey; and her "granddog" Kayla.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2085 Hageman, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, the Arthritis Foundation or the Parkinson's Foundation.

The body was cremated.
