Stanley Joseph Smith
July 18, 1950 - November 22, 2003

Stanley Joseph Smith, 53, Salina, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003.

Mr. Smith was born July 18, 1950, in Dodge City. He was owner and operator of Plumbing Unlimited for the past 20 years.

He attended Salina public schools.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. After his military service, he worked for Jayhawk Roofing and Bud's Plumbing. He also served on the City of Salina Building Advisory Board.

He was a life member of Ambucs and a member of the Salina Harley Owners' Group.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Hunter Gage Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Salina; a son, Chris and wife Stacy of Dodge City; two daughters, Tami and husband Bret Lyons of Nampa, Idaho, and Kimmy and husband Lance Miller of Salina; his parents, Bernard and Eula Smith of Hill City; six brothers, Richard of Huntsville, Ala., Lloyd and Steve, both of Fort Worth, Phil of Delphos, Kent of Crescent, Okla., and John of Mulvane; a sister, Rita McMillan of Oklahoma City; his mother-in-law, Mary Gillum of Smolan; two brothers-in-law, David and wife Peggy Crowl of Smolan and Darrel and wife Linda Crowl of Bixby, Okla.; four grandchildren, Madison Lyons, Caden Smith, Michael Lyons and Harleigh Smith; and two stepgrandchildren, Chellcy Miller and Cari Miller.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Revs. Kerry Ninemire and Paul Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina or Ashby House, in care of the mortuary.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
