Jack E. Britegam, 83, Salina, died Saturday, May 1, 2004. Mr. Britegam was born Jan. 12, 1921, in Lincoln. He and his father owned Wardrobe Cleaners in Salina for 20 years. He also served as vice president and sales manager for Sellers Tractor Company for 25 years and worked as a real estate agent with Realty Associates for 15 years. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, ISIS Shrine, First Presbyterian Church, Salina Realtors Association and a St. John's Muleskinner. He married Adele Ritter on July 15, 1950, in Salina. Survivors include his wife, Adele of the home; two sons, Larry and wife Melanie of Salina and Jeff and wife Kristine of Parker, Colo.; two daughters, Kris Short and husband Mike of Aurora, Colo. and Jill Sheppard and husband Steve of Centennial, Colo.; a sister, Joan Stedham of Reno, Nev.; and seven grandchildren, Katie, Evan and Paige Britegam, all of Salina, Nikolaus and Hunter Britegam of Parker and Tyler and Jack Sheppard of Centennial. The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Salina, with Rev. Tom Reid officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Greater Salina Community Foundation Baseball Fund or to the St. John's Military School Endowment Fund. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. |
