Mrs. Broce was born Esther Koeppen on March 12, 1914 at Attica to Gus and Rachel Koeppen. She was a bookkeeper, musician and a home maker. She was a member of Lady Elks, Union Pacific Railroad Old Timers, Kansas Crossroaders and Sun Chasers. Her hobbies included ceramics, camping and fishing.

She was married to Robert James Broce on January 19, 1932 at Attica.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kelly Broce.

Survivors include her husband Robert James Broce of Salina; a son, Bruce Broce and wife Mary Ann of Salina; a daughter, Shirley Nofsinger and husband Don of Salina; a sister, Francis Davis of Turner, OR; six grandchildren, Michelle and Tyler Moore, Lori Upchurch, Beth Edwards, and Mark and John Houser; and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the mortuary.
