FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas -- Christopher E. Carter, 36, Fort Sam Houston, died Thursday, December 30, 2004. Mr. Carter was born Nov. 18, 1968, in Salina, Kan. He was an SPC in the D Company, 187th Medical Battalion, United States Army, working in radiology. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Warren Carter; and his step-grandfather, Eddie Warren. Survivors include his fiance, Angie Poling, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a son, Daniel Kinderknecht of Colby, Kan.; his parents, Charles Carter and wife Dianne of Salina and Joyce Eggers and husband Richard of Ellsworth, Kan.; two brothers, Charles Cline Carter Jr. of Overland Park, Kan., and Chad Carter and fiance Christine Longenecker of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Brenda Carter of Wichita, Kan., and Becky Carter and fiance Nick O’Brien of Salina; five stepbrothers and sisters, Darin and Dana Urban of Overland Park, Dustin Urban of Kansas City, Kan., Lory and Lane Allison of Roeland Park, Kan., and Holly Eggers of Concordia, Kan.; his grandparents, Alfred and Jewell Priddy of Lindsborg, Kan., and Roberta Jo Warren of Flatwoods, Ky.; seven aunts and uncles, Wayne and Joyce Carter of Russell, Ky., Grant and Minnie Carter of Grayson, Ky., RaeJeanne and Jay Young III of Cattlesburg, Ky., Chuck and Michelle Priddy, Scott and Judy Becker and Curtis and Ann Priddy, all of Lindsborg, Kan., and Janet and Ray Pyeatt of Mulvane, Kan.; five nieces and nephews, Ashley, Elise and Anna Blankenship, Caleb and Taylor Normandin, Alexis Carter and Teagan O’Brien; and a great-niece, Amaya Baldwin. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Southern Baptist Church, Salina, the Rev. Glenn Davis and Fr. Frank Coady officiating. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christopher Carter Memorial Fund. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. |
