Mr. Dahl was born October 22, 1948, in Salina. He was state district manager for the Salina Journal and has been in the newspaper business for the past 23 years. He was a graduate of the first police academy in Salina. He was in law enforcement for several years and also served as the Police Chief for Ellsworth.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emery Dahl.

He married his wife, Donda, on October 25, 1995, in Salina.

Survivors include his wife, Donda of the home; two sons, Jon and wife Amanda and Robert and wife Melissa, all of Salina; three daughters, Alisia Richardson of Salina, Amanda Wells and husband Nick of Lawrence and Vonda Staley and husband Jim of Keller, Texas; a stepbrother, David Adams and wife Susie of Salina; a sister, Martha Frick and husband Norman of Blanchard, OK; his mother, Margaret Adams of Salina; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Inurnment will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
