Hazel Thelma Dawdy

Hazel Thelma Dawdy, 89, Salina, died Friday, October 29, 2004.

Mrs. Dawdy was born Hazel Thelma Frager on Sept. 8, 1915, in Washington. She married Elmer A. Dawdy on June 10, 1929, in Washington. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1938. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband on Dawdy Dairy Farm. She was a member of ODE Club, First United Methodist Church and Alpha Delta Phi Sorority at Kansas State.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, in 1988; and a daughter, Janet Steinfort, in 1963.

Survivors include two sons, Bill of Beloit and David of Madison, Wis.; two daughters, Janice "Jake" Roberts of Vail, Colo., and Jane Shumaker of Salina; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church Chapel, Salina. There will be a private family inurnment.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
