Dr. Harry Richard Draemel
July 6, 1921 - January 4, 2004

Dr. Harry Richard Draemel, 82, Salina, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004.

Dr. Draemel was born July 6, 1921, at Chappell, Neb. He was a medical physician-surgeon and served as Saline County Deputy Coroner. He was a member of Christ Cathedral Episcopal Church, Saline County Medical Society, Kansas Medical Society, American Medical Association, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Kansas City OORL. He served in the Armed forces during World War II from 1942 to 1946, and served in the Medical Corp Army Reserve from 1950 to 1971. He was involved with Kansas Rifle Association, hunter safety programs and Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. He also enjoyed fishing, especially trout fishing.

He married Marie Loepp on June 6, 1949, at Kansas City, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Catherine Draemel; and a sister, Virginia Chuvarsky.

Survivors include his wife, Marie of the home; a son, Ian Richard Draemel of Beloit; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Cathedral Episcopal Church, Salina, the Very Rev. Timothy Kline officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

There will be no visitation.
