| Harold Everhart Jr. | December 13, 1932 - September 24, 2004 |
GYPSUM -- Harold Everhart Jr., 71, Gypsum, died Friday, September 24, 2004. Mr. Everhart was born Dec. 13, 1932, in Belleville. He worked for 15 years in grounds maintenance at the Eisenhower Center. He served in the Vietnam War and retired from the Army in 1973. He was awarded a National Defense Service medal, three Vietnam Service medals, a Purple Heart and four Good Conduct medals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Olive Everhart; a stepmother, JoAnn Everhart; two brothers, Robert and Donald Everhart; and two sisters, Betty Scrivner and Sheryl Schjolander. Survivors include his wife, Le Thi of Abilene; three sons, Le of Overland Park, Stephen of Gypsum and Michael of Hutchinson; a daughter, Lieu Ann Elsey of Salina; two brothers, Jimmy of Canyon City, Colo., and Allen of Concordia; three sisters, Barbara Mosher and Jackie Schjolander, both of Concordia, and Wanda Bergstron of Topeka; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Central Christian Church, Belleville, with Pastor Mark Imel officiating. Inurnment will be in Belleville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kayleigh Nicolla and Destiny Everhart Educational Fund. There will be no visitation. The body was cremated. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, is handling arrangements. |
