Mr. Fent was born on May 3, 1919 in Newton. He graduated from K.S.U. with a degree in geology. As a ground water geologist he owned and operated Hydraulic Drilling Company in Salina until his retirement in 1991. He was a Senior Fellow of the Geological Society of America, a member of the Kansas Academy of Science, and was an Associate Emeritus member of the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; three sons, Stephan White of Baldwin City, Ronald S. Fent of Salina & Jeffrey Kantor of Ft. Collins, CO; two daughters, Sandy Lee White of Shirley Indiana & Mary Beth Heath of Greeley CO; two sisters, Naomi & Doris Fent, both of Newton.

Private family services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the K.S.U. Dept. of Geology.
