Mr. Giersch was born March 13, 1928, at Salina. He was the owner and operator of Salina Auto Trim from 1955 until retirement in 1990.

Mr Giersch was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. Post 1432, and the Eagles, all of Salina, and a member of the Central Kansas Yacht Club.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia J. of the home; a son, Rex L. Giersch of Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Debbie L. Graham of Salina, and Janet M. Nelson of Marquette; a sister, LaVerne Maybrier of Wichita; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina, with military honors by Ft. Riley.

A vigil/rosary service will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth Street, Salina, 67401.
