Donald T. Glover, 82, Salina, died Sunday, May 30, 2004. Mr. Glover was born April 8, 1922, in Wabaunsee. He served in the Army Air Corps, later known as the United States Air Force. He served in the squadron supply room and the base exchange in England during World War II. His unit, the 835th Bomb Squadron, was stationed at Sudbury, England, and it received seven Battle Stars. He retired as a master sergeant from the Air Force in 1961. After retirement, he owned and operated Glover Vending Co. in Salina, retiring in 1991. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1432, both of Salina. Survivors include his wife, Bernice V. of the home; a son, Thomas M. of Blue Springs, Mo.; two daughters, Judith Ann Jilka of Little Rock, Ark., and Donna Marie Roberts of Colby; a sister, Ruth Wilson of Statesboro, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud, Salina. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with military rites. A rosary, with a vigil, will be said at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Memorials may be made to the church or Sacred Heart Junior-Senior High School. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m Wednesday at the mortuary. |
