Irvin B. Hans, 82, Salina, died Thursday, June 17, 2004. Mr. Hans was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Great Bend. He moved to Pratt in 1936 and to Salina in 1958. He was a Dillon's Stores manager in Salina until retiring in 1984. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Southwest Pacific and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Salina, a life member of Elks Lodge 718, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1432 and a member of AARP. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Caroline "Kerry"; his second wife, JoAnn; and a daughter, Linda Rogers. Survivors include three stepsons, Chuck Weaver of Phoenix, and Phil and wife Kathleen Weaver and Mike and wife Sharon Weaver, all of Salina; two stepdaughters, Rebecca and husband Danny Boyd of Wichita and Debbie Richter of Topeka; a granddaughter, Wendy Lindsey of Lawrence; and a nephew, Doug Ackley of Manhattan. The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating. There will be a private inurnment. There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated. |
