Richard Dryden Lee, 75, Salina, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004. Mr. Lee was born February 3, 1929, at Okmulgee, OK. He worked as a press punch operator for Great Plains Manufacturing in Salina until retirement in 1991. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy as a mine sweeper in the South Pacific. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 1432, the ChefDeGare of 40/8-Voiture 1190, and St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home; a son, Bill of Hope; five stepsons, Joseph Sweeny of Lincoln, NE, Kenneth Sweeney of Hays, Jeffery Sweeney of Chula Vista, CA, and Mike and Jim Sweeney, both of Salina; a step-daughter, Nancy Keene of Jay, OK; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, Salina. Burial with military honors provided by the V.F.W. post 1432 will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina. A rosary service will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. |
