Mr. Lorenson was born Feb. 7, 1922, in Salina. He was a welder and machinist and was co-owner/operator of Lorenson Welding and Machine Co., Salina.

He was preceded in death by a son, James H. Jr., in 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Lea of Salina; two sons, William and Linden J., both of Salina; two daughters, Kim Lorenson of Salina and Donna Lorenson of Athens, N.Y.; three brothers, John R. of Clovis, Calif., and Linden J. and Richard D., both of Salina; three sisters, Marjorie J. Brunck of Concord, Calif., Esther L. Cooper of Oakhurst, Calif., and Alice M. Horn of Fresno, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina, with military honors by VFW Post 1432.
