Mr. Maddy was born March 1, 1918, in Stockton, KS. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Salina, Masonic Lodge No. 60 and Elks Lodge No. 566 of Boulder, CO. He was a life member of the Scottish Rite, Isis Shrine, Shrine Engineers, Veterans of Foreign Wars of Stockton and American Legion of Salina. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1938 and transferred to the Army Air Corps in 1939. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force in 1958.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Pankratz of Wichita; two sisters, Beth Marcotte of San Jose, CA, and Alice Ann Lee of Smith Center; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Private burial will be in Stockton Cemetery.
