Mr. Marquez was born Sept. 15, 1920, in Mescalero, N.M. He was a civil service employee for the U.S. government for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Nora of the home; two daughters, Sister Dorothy Marquez, CSJ, of Salina and Mary Rose Vineyard and husband Pat of Bernalillo, N.M.; a son, Charles and wife Susanna Marquez of Crane, Texas; two sisters, Francis Bock of Whittier, Calif., and Nora Zamora of Wafford, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Kenneth Vineyard, Aimee Vineyard, Cheryl Marquez, Charles Marquez and Priscilla Marquez.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

A vigil and rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
