Gerald E. Owens, 74, Salina, died Saturday, April 17, 2004. Mr. Owens was born January 17, 1930 at Junction City. He worked as a truck driver for Morrison Grain for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Owens in 1997; a brother James Carlisle Owens in 1928; a sister, Catherine May Alexander in 1974; and a step-son, Dennis Duane Fadley. Survivors include a son, James C. of Salina, two daughters, Leona Thompson and Pamela Lewis both of Salina; five brothers, Gene H., Carl R., and David L. all of Salina, William of Burrton, KS, and Donald L. of Zebulon, NC; three sisters, Peggy McConkey and Ruth Monasmith of Salina, and Betty Ann Lauxman of Haven, KS; seven grandchildren, Nancy Ann Owens of Wichita, James Allen Owens of Norton, Chastity K. Burt of Hutchinson, Anthony W. George of Topeka, E.J. Outland, Jr., Aubrey Daniel Owens, and Robert James Owens, all of Salina; and seven great-grandchildren. The memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. The Rev. Paul Robbins will officiate. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina. There will be no visitation. The body was cremated. |
