Mr. Penner was born July 22, 1926, in Medford. He was a product coordinator for many years working in the airline industry, retiring in 1976.

His first wife, Evelyn, died in 1989.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle B. of the home; a son, Michael of Lawrence; a daughter, Betty Jo Schmidt of Roxbury; a stepdaughter, Susan Jednoralski of Salina; two brothers, Karl of Baltimore and Bus of Denver; two sisters, Nona Gilmore and Mary Wood, both of Denver; five grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
