Mr. Smith was born Aug. 15, 1950, at Colorado Springs, Colo. He was a maintenance worker at Petro II in Salina.

Survivors include a son, Charlie M. of Phoenix; a step-son, Brandon Scott of Jasper, Minn.; a daughter, Melissa York of Albertsville, Ala.; his mother, Jessie Buxman of Bennington; and four grandchildren.

The memorial service will be at 1:300 p.m. Saturday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, 67401.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, in care of the funeral home.
