Mrs. Stephen was born Alice Virginia O'Neal on April 24, 1906, in Stover, Mo. She was a retired telephone operator for Bell Telephone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E., in 1980 and a son, Neal, in 2001.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Johnson of Salina and Judy K. Toman of Ellsworth; a sister, Elinor Sullivan of Denver; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.
