Phyllis Strifler
January 28, 1937 - August 14, 2004

Phyllis Strifler, 67, Salina, died Saturday, August 14, 2004.

Mrs. Strifler was born Phyllis Peterson on Jan. 28, 1937, in Marquette. She owned and operated Strifler Child Care in Salina, had been a Banker's Life & Casualty agent and had worked for the advertising department for Gibsons Department Store. She married Rex Strifler on April 5, 1955, in Fairbury, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ada (Reynolds) Peterson; and two sons, Greg and Doug.

Survivors include her husband, Rex, of Salina; two sons, Jeff and wife Peggy and Russell and wife Sheri, all of Salina; a daughter, Cathy Landis and husband Bill of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Lila Kindt and husband Francis of Gillette, Wyo., Carol Williams and husband Bob of Salina, and Mildred Bailey and husband Terry of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the Children with Diabetes Foundation, 5689 Chancery Place, Hamilton, OH 45011.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
