Mr. Swedenburg was born Aug. 12, 1911, in Salina. He owned and operated Southern Heights Sundry, Kampus Sundry and Hiway Sundry stores in Salina.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred C. of Salina; three sons, Bob of Colorado Springs, Colo., John of New York and Jim of Cincinnati; three daughters, Kay Bachofer of Salina, Charlene Meidlinger of Vienna, Va., and Sue Wilson of Derby; two brothers, Everet of Albuquerque, N.M., and Romain of Spring Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Doris Olson of Seattle and Ruth Weeks of Salina; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
