Mr. Turner was born Aug. 21, 1946, in Salina. He worked for Holiday Resort as a cook, for Wal-Mart Automotive and for Bosselman's, where he was employee of the month and employee of the year. He was an avid bowler in Salina Senior Bowling Leagues.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of Salina; two sons, Ernest L. and wife Angela and Mark A. and wife Pamela, all of Salina; his father, Sheldon, and stepmother, Lola, of Salina; a brother, Clarence and wife Vivian of Catati, Calif.; three sisters, Edythe Tisdale and husband Walt of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Lola Nelson and husband Barry and Vella Sippel, all of Salina; four grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; two stepsons, John Flott of Topeka and Joseph Allen of Salina; and two stepdaughters, Linda Todd and husband David of Topeka and Brenda Smith of Salina.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, with the Rev. Kenneth McCormick officiating. Cremation will follow the service. His ashes will be interred in Bennington Cemetery.
