Gerald S. "Jake" Asbridge Sr, 64, Salina, died Sunday, June 26, 2005. Mr. Asbridge was born May 3, 1941, in Salina. He worked at Tony's Pizza Service and owned and operated The Bachelor's Inn Tavern, Salina. He was a member of the Army National Guard from 1955 to 1965. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Winifred (Trexler) Asbridge; his stepfather, Alvin Burch; a brother, Floyd Asbridge; and a sister, Shirley Alexander. Survivors include four sons, Douglas, Michael and wife Candi, and Gerald Jr. and wife Carol, all of Salina, and Allen Reed; three daughters, Jera Lynn Asbridge and companion Tegan McCullough, Laura Asbridge and fiance Chuck Rice, and Winifred Hall and husband Daryl, all of Salina; two sisters, Joan Diver of Covington, Okla., and Virginia Faughn of Fredonia, Ky.; three brothers, Max of Denver, Ronald of Salina and Gary of Waco, Texas; the mothers of his children, Connie Wilson and Janis Poskey, both of Salina; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ray Avenue Baptist Church, Salina. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. There will be no visitation. The body was cremated. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, is handling arrangements. |
