Mr. Christian was born August 23, 1923 at Clyde, Kansas. He was the general manager of Great Plains Mutual Insurance Company for 50 years, retiring in 1993. He was a former commander of the Solomon American Legion, a Solomon city council member and school board member, past master of the Solomon Masonic Lodge and past worthy patron of the Solomon Eastern Star. He served as potentate of the ISIS Shrine in 1973, was past president of both the Central States Shrine Association and the Kansas Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. He was a WWII Army veteran, a life member of the VFW Post 1432 and Elks Lodge, a member of the American Legion Post 62, a 32nd degree KCCH Salina Scotish Rite Consistory, member the Salina Elks and Salina Country Club and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Salina.

He married Doris L. Swenson on February 14, 1948 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Salina.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Christian of the home and numerous nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 255 S. 7th, Salina. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.
