Mrs. Ellis was born Mildred J. Sandstrom on Aug. 2, 1907, in Herington.

She was a charter member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church, served as an elder, is past president of U.P.W. and a member of the Mariners. She also did volunteer work at the former Asbury Hospital was a member of Mother’s Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Sr., in 1991; a brother, Ralph Sandstrom; and two grandsons, Michael Grantham and John W. Perry.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Perry and husband Dr. James L. of Seaford, N.Y., and Deanna Waggaman and husband Lewis of Wichita; two sons, Robert W. Jr. and wife Susan, and John and wife Barbara, all of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Carl Sandstrom of Topeka; a sister, Florence Easterday Orr of Prairie Village; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Salina, the Rev. John Pehrson officiating, preceded by a luncheon at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
