Clemens Bernard Erickson
September 3, 1918 - October 26, 2005

Clemens Bernard Erickson, 87, Salina, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005.

Mr. Erickson was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Falun. He was owner and operator of Erickson Homes, working as a construction contractor building custom homes in the Salina area for many years.

He attended Brown Mackie Business College in 1939.

He married Barbara L. Arnold on Sept. 26, 1942, in Los Angeles.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, YMCA and the National Home Builders Association. He enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and member of the 35th Division, serving in the invasion of Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and the Ardennes.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurel Erickson, in 1947.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of Salina; two sons, Byron and Bernard, both of Salina; three daughters, Linda Johnson and husband Richard of Riverbank, Calif., Nancy Koenig and husband Fred of Calispell, Mont., and Susan Jecminek and husband Dave of Loveland, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, YMCA of Salina or the Serenity Cove at the Good Samaritan Center, Minneapolis.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
