Mrs. Gross was born Martha M. Moehring on April 25, 1920, in Oto, Neb. She was an elementary schoolteacher.

She married Lowell Herman Gross on June 9, 1946, in Hastings, Neb. They enjoyed being exhibitors at regional art and craft shows, displaying Blind Made products and wooden handmade clocks.

She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Anna Matilda Moehring; two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include her husband, Lowell of Salina; a daughter, Marilyn Jelken and husband Garry of Salina; a brother, Ted Moehring of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a sister, Anna Hoagland of Hastings, Neb.; a grandson, James Wickersham of Hutchinson; four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jennessa, Destiny and Justin.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, with the Rev. Ted Reike officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center.

Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church and Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
