Faith Z. Hronek, 86, Salina, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005. Mrs. Hronek was born Faith Z. Cassell on May 4, 1919, in Salina, the daughter of Chester Cassell and the former Edna Critchfield. She was a homemaker and co-owner of E.J. Hronek Salvage from 1950-1994. She was a member and past president of the Lady Elks, Lady Elks Past President’s Club and Municipal Lady’s Golf League, where she helped form the league and was its first president. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral Parish and Sacred Heart Altar Guild. She served on the Saline County Election Board for 50 years. She married Edward Joseph Hronek on Sept. 16, 1937, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. He died in 1994. She also was preceded in death by a brother, H. Ardell Cassell. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Marcotte and husband Conrad of Wichita; two sons, E. Ardell and wife Carla of Olathe and Dennis and wife Cletia of Independence, Mo.; her companion, Frank Reese of Salina; a sister, Beth Roe of McPherson; a sister-in-law, Margaret Cassell of Salina; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral, Salina, the Rev. Jerome Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Williamsburg. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Memorials may be made to the Elks Scholarship Fund or Hospice of Salina. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. |
