Rev. William J. "Bill" Lambertson
January 18, 1916 - July 28, 2005

MINNEAPOLIS -- Rev. William J. "Bill" Lambertson, 89, Minneapolis, died Thursday, July 28, 2005.

The Rev. Lambertson was born on Jan. 18, 1916, in Ada.

He attended Kansas Wesleyan University, Salina, and graduated from Bethany College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He also graduated from Perkins School of Theology, SMU at Dallas, Texas, with a Bachelor of Divinity degree in 1946. While attending school in Dallas, he was a coach and athletic director at Terrill Prep Junior College. He pastored five Methodist churches before becoming an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God Church. He served as pastor and evangelist throughout 15 states during his ministry. He was honored in 2002 for more than 50 years as an ordained Assembly of God minister.

He married June L. Richardson on Aug. 28, 1938, in Ada.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, June L.; a daughter, Connie Wallin; and two sisters, Wilma Johnson and EunaMay Lambertson.

He married Beverly D. Edwards on Oct. 3, 1998, in Salina.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of the home; two sons, Cliff Edwards Jr. and wife Janice of Salina and Dan Edwards of Grand Island, Neb; three daughters, LaDonna Weston and husband Dave of Springfield, Mo., Delia DeMary and husband Paul of Minneapolis and Carol Hyman and husband Gail W. of Salina; a sister, Doris Van Meter of Minneapolis; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association or the Leukemia Association, in care of the mortuary.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m.
