Mrs. Lawrence was born Maxine E. Hanson on March 15, 1923, in Russell. She was a nurse’s aide and a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred A., in 2001; and three daughters, Martha “Marty” Childress, Judy Taylor and Kitty Scott.

Survivors include two sons, Steven Taylor and James “Tommy” Thompson, both of Salina; a daughter, Vicki Timson of Salina; two sisters, Virginia Base and Dorothy Walsh, both of Salina; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, Salina. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, American Lung Association or the Tammy Walker Cancer Center.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
