Theodosia M. "Teddy" Luck

Theodosia M. "Teddy" Luck, 88, Salina, died Saturday, October 15, 2005.

Mrs. Luck was born Theodosia M. O’Shea on June 10, 1917, in Taloga, Okla. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1934 and received her nursing degree from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing and also attended Southwestern University in Winfield. She was a nurse at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City during World War II. She married Preston Edward “Lucky” Luck of Solomon on April 6, 1946, in Braddock, Pa. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1432 Auxiliary of Salina, the Kansas Sub Vets Auxiliary, AARP and Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish. She was a perpetual member of the St. Joseph’s Nursing Association. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, “Lucky,” in 1997; her parents, James G. O’Shea and Sarah Alida (Conde) O’Shea; three brothers, Dr. James, Robert and Frank O’Shea; and a sister, Katherin O’Shea.

Survivors include four daughters, Mona Sue McCormick and husband Ron of Edgewood, N.M., Pamela Diane Ball of Lewisville, Texas, Jean Marie Drog and husband Joseph of Sheridan, Wyo., and Valeria Jane Hill and husband Billy Gene Sr. of Stephenville, Texas; two brothers, Joseph T. O’Shea of Kent, Wash., and Phillip Michael O’Shea of Norfolk, Va.; a sister, Kathleen Ann O’Shea of Crozet, Va.; seven grandchildren, Sean McCormick of Dallas, Kelli Diane Downing of Warrenton, Va., Bradly J. Drog of Columbus, Ga., Jennifer L. Drog and Justin D. Drog of Sheridan, Wyo., and Eric G. Luck and Billie G. Hill of Stephenville; and six great-grandchildren, Mithcell Matheui, Haylee Luck, Kyden Luck, Elias Downing, Preston Downing and Darien Seig.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral, the Rev. Jerome Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials my be made to Shut-in Communion Services, in care of Sacred Heart Parish.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where a vigil will be at 7 p.m.
