Mr. Maxey was born Robert Stephen Maxey on Dec. 6, 1955, in San Francisco. He was an assembler for Raytheon.

He was an avid powerlifter and Scottish Highland Games Athlete.

Survivors include his wife, Tara, of the home; his parents, Robert H. and Janice M. Maxey, of Salina; four brothers, Thomas, Sean and Patrick, all of Salina, and Kevin of California; five sisters, Teresa Shane and Angela Percival, both of Omaha, Neb., Julia Maxey of Odenton, Md., Susan Cowel of Park City and Kathleen Maxey of Salina.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. A family private inurnment will be at later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.
