Mr. Norwood was born April 6, 1923, in Superior, Neb. He was a construction superintendent for Jarvis Construction Co. in Salina for 30 years and then owned and operated Norwood Western Ice Co. in Salina for more than 10 years. He was a member of Church of the Cross United Methodist Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Salina. He married his wife, Irene, on July 4, 1941, in Belleville.

Survivors include his wife, Irene, of New Cambria; two sons, Mike and wife Debbie of Las Vegas and Fred and wife Kimberly of New Cambria; two daughters, Diane Turner and husband Jack of Salina and Caroline Burrows and husband Bill of New Cambria; a sister, June Persinger of Superior; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.
