Mr. Olson was born Sept. 4, 1922, in Burr Oak and raised in Elsmore. He was a civil engineer for Ebasco Consulting Engineer, New York, and Berry Tractor Company, Wichita. He was a co-owner of Carol’s Decor, Salina for 33 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lenora (Callahan) Olson; and a son, David, in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Bess. of Salina; two sons, Doug and wife Sally of Salina and Dean and wife Carol of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; two grandsons, Russell and Matthew Olson of Salina; two granddaughters, Alea and Marina Olson of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; and three brothers, David of Kansas City, Ks., Charles and wife Florence of Chanute, and James and wife Carol of Albuquerque, N.M.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Salina, with the Rev. Kent Happel officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Golden Valley Cemetery, Moran, with the Rev. Lloyd Houk officiating.
