Mr. Otey was born July 1, 1930 in Forrest City, Ark. He was a self-employed general contractor. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1432 and past commander.

He was a master sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1958 and served in the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Rosella “Bonnie,” of the home; two sons, Mike and Mark of Salina; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Solomon, with military rites by VFW Post 1432.
