Mr. Phillips was born August 14, 1943 in Salina. He worked as a mechanic for new car dealerships in Abilene and Denver.

Survivors include a son, Mike of Morrison, Colo.; two brothers, Thomas and Don, both of Salina; a sister, Norma Jean Phelps of Brookville; and two grandchildren.

Services are planned on a future date. The body was cremated.
