Mrs. Sampson was born Delma M. Steinhoff on May 6, 1927, in Osage City, the daughter of Jess and Effie Fritts Steinhoff. She was a graduate of Osage City High School and Wichita Business College and received a bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University. She was a certified public accountant and assisted her husband in the operation of his many business enterprises. She was the second woman in Kansas to become a certified public accountant. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Darwin L., of the home; a stepson, James D. Sampson of Salina; a brother, Roy Steinhoff of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Wanda King of Osage City; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Jeff King officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.
