Mr. Streit was born Dec. 21, 1915, at Tipton. He was a farmer and stockman in the Tipton area for many years. He was a World War II veteran, serving for five years in the Army in the South Pacific.

Survivors include his wife, Clara, of the home; five sons, Don of Salina, Ron of Cambridge, Neb., Duane of Tipton, Neil of Jefferson, N.H., and Loren of Manhattan; four daughters, Patrice Fencl of Sand Springs, Okla., Alice Burney of Tecumseh, and Ilene Lewis and Brenda Smith, both of Salina; two sisters, Agnes Testa and Ottillia Collard, both of Wichita; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud, Salina. Burial will be in the All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 3601 E. Crawford, Salina, with military rites provided by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

A vigil/rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
