Marybelle L. Thelen, 80, Salina, died Friday, November 4, 2005. Mrs. Thelen was born Marybelle L. Miller on Feb. 6, 1925, in Shelby, Neb. She was a homemaker and worked as a sales clerk for Gibson Discount Center, Salina. She was a member of Sacred Heart Ladies Guild, the Ladies of Columbus and Cathedral Funeral Committee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, on Sept. 26, 2005. Survivors include three sons, Dennis J. and wife Elaine of Palm Harbor, Fla., Frank J. III and wife Elena of Salina and Anthony “Tony” and wife Pam of Houston; two daughters, Mary Lou Thelen of Salina and Ann Marie Hunter and husband Ryan of Wichita; three sisters, Donna Leigh Hansen of Omaha, Neb., Florence Ann Morris of Sun City, Ariz., and Jlee Rose Rafert and husband Robert of Shelby, Neb.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Ninth and Iron, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina. A rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Sunday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Junior/Senior High School or the cathedral. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. |
