Mr. Turner was born Emery Wayne Turner on Feb. 4, 1932, in Salina. He was a brick mason and custodian for the Salina School District.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of the home; two sons, David and wife Linda and Richard and wife Lucy, all of Salina; two daughters, Sheryl Long and husband Greg of Salina and Karen Buser and husband Jerry of Beloit; a brother, LaVerne Turner and wife Lola of Salina; a sister, Ila Swanson and husband Ernest of Salina; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Church of the Nazarene, Salina, the Rev. Jon Fillipi officiating. Burial will be in Bennington Cemetery.
