Mrs. Wakley was born Margaret Helen Husted on May 8, 1923, in Salina. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Kansas Wesleyan University Alumni, all of Salina. She also was a member of the University of Kansas Alumni Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wakley, in 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Lawrence R. of Lakeland and Daniel A. of Navarre.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, with the Order of the Eastern Star providing burial services.
