Mrs. Adcock was born Clara Belle Peterson on May 20, 1917, in Walker, Mo. She was retired from the Civil Service, serving in Fort Leavenworth and Crane Naval Base in Indiana. She was also a cook at Osborne County Memorial Hospital and worked for Longbell Lumber, Lansing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elza James, in 1987; a daughter, Patricia Stevenson, in 2001; and a grandson, Jamie Adcock, in 1999.

Survivors include three sons, Joe and wife Jolene and Jon and wife Cynthia, all of Salina, and Jimmie and wife Rebecca of Osborne; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the Jamie Adcock Scholarship Fund at Kansas State University.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
