Paul B. Adrian, 89, Salina, died Wednesday, November 29, 2006. Mr. Adrian was born Dec. 28, 1916, in Moundridge, the son of Peter and Helena Adrian. He was a retired real estate broker and developer of several subdivisions in Salina, where he operated the Paul Adrian Agency. He received his teaching certificate from Bethel College, North Newton. He married Marian E. Bair on Aug. 11, 1940, in Hillsboro. He was a member of Church of the Cross United Methodist; Salina Board of Realtors, serving twice as president; Kansas Association of Realtors, serving as Zone 5 vice president; Salina American Legion, serving as past commander; Salina Chamber of Commerce, serving as chairman of economic development; president of Kansas Council of Churches; chairman of the Saline County Republican Party; Board of Trustees for United Methodist Conference; United Methodist Council of Finance and Administration; and local, annual and general conferences of the United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. His hobbies were golfing, fishing and hunting. He received the Towel and Basin Award and the Recognition Award for 53 years of Christian service from Church of the Cross. He was awarded membership in Kansas Association of Realtors Honor Society. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael, in 1944. Survivors include his wife, Marian E., of the home; two sons, Pete and wife Maggie of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Bob and wife Janet of Atchison; a daughter, Paula Wright and husband Wally Storey of Salina; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Cross United Methodist, 1600 Rush, Salina 67401, the Rev. Paul Wilke officiating. A private inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina 67401. Memorials may be made to the church, Salina Presbyterian Manor or Hospice of Salina. There will be no visitation. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, is handling arrangements. |
