Mr. Base was born June 26, 1947, in Lindsborg. He was a farmer-stockman.

Survivors include his wife, Linda M., of the home; his mother, Rozina M. Base, of Gypsum; two daughters, Sandy Slaughter of Ellis and Lisa Base of Gypsum; a sister, Jacqueline Gilbert of Rifle, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Gypsum. Burial will be in Gypsum Valley Cemetery, Gypsum.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
