Milton L. Baxter, 82, Salina, died Monday, May 8, 2006. Mr. Baxter was born March 11, 1924, in Salina and was a lifetime resident of Saline County. He was the son of Floyd and Elsie (Amann) Baxter. He was employed with Graves Truck Line, Salina, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. He was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and served in the Seabees during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Viola M., of the home; a son, Milton L. of McCook, Neb.; three daughters, Kathy Saum of Marquette, Neb., Debra Baxter of Ramah, N.M., and Susan Baxter of Nickerson; two sisters, Helen Janicke and Jean Albright, both of Salina; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Ninth and Iron, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina. A vigil and rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for Masses or to the cathedral. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. |
