Mrs. Buchholz was born Bernice V. DeMars on May 17, 1914, in Concordia. She was a sales clerk for McLean Retail Liquor Store for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus W. Buchholz Jr., in 1979; and a son, James Edward Buchholz, in 1958.

Survivors include a son, Steven of Salina; a daughter, Brenda Weldy of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

A vigil will be at 5 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Jr.-Sr. High School, Salina.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
