Mr. Carpenter was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Detroit. He was the owner of Carpenter Electric, Salina.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, of the home; three sons, John K. of Choctaw, Okla., Dan E. of Derby and Ken J. and wife Laura of Wichita; two daughters, Lora L. Ireton and husband Joe of New Cambria and Karen A. Alden and husband Wayne of East Northport, N.Y.; three brothers, James of Plano, Texas, Mark of Westland, Mich., and Bob of Buchanan, Tenn.; and 11 grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud, Salina. Burial will be in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, East Crawford, Salina.

A vigil and rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to the church endowment fund.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
