Margaret B. Carney
June 16, 1917 - February 25, 2006

Margaret B. Carney, 88, Salina, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006.

Mrs. Carney was born June 16, 1917, near Glasco, the daughter of the late Thomas Sheridan and the former Emma Colette. She was a registered nurse for the Saline County Health Department and was retired from the Kansas State Rehabilitation Center. She loved to play bridge, sew, golf and dance and did volunteer work for the hospital. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, the Sacred Heart Guild and Perpetual Adoration Society, Concordia VFW and Salina Elks Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jim, in 1979.

Survivors include a daughter, Pam Demoney of Brookville; a brother, Leo Sheridan and wife Dixie of West Plains, Mo.;a grandson, Brad Winkler of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two granddaughters, Lynnette Fogle and husband Rob and Brenda Payne, all of Kenosha, Wis.; and five great-grandchildren, Ashly Payne, David Winkler, Kathryne Fogle, Steven Fogle and Levi Yoder.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina, the Rev. Jerome Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
